About Us

As a family-owned business with over 40 years of experience, we have deep roots in the community. For the past year, we’ve proudly operated in Wilmington, continuing a legacy that began 55 years ago in Rhode Island with my father’s business. I have taken the reins and am dedicated to carrying this tradition forward.

While our main focus is on interior painting, we offer a wide range of services, ensuring that every project reflects our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Whether you’re looking for a fresh coat of paint or additional renovations, we’re here to help transform your space with care and expertise.

Since 1969

where it began

My painting career began in 1982 as an apprentice union painter and paperhanger, which opened the door to a full range of opportunities—learning, creating friendships, and installing wallpaper of all different prints and sizes. I worked with commercial-grade 54-inch-wide material, using a pasting machine and double-cutting for a seamless finish.

I also gained experience in wallpaper removal and wall painting. We installed 36-inch, 27-inch, and 21-inch paperback, fabric-backed, and paper-backed wallpapers, including imported unpasted prints. This work required edge trimming, pattern matching, and installing wallpaper on bathroom and kitchen ceilings.

The painting aspect of my career was a gift passed down from my sibling and father. Along the way, I developed skills in repairing water damage and handling large-scale ceiling, trim, and wall applications.

In 1986, we founded Wallcovering Express Inc., a painting and paperhanging company that flourished on the East Side of Providence. We found great success in an upscale condo retirement community, where we maintained a 180-unit complex with painting and wallpapering services for many years.

My son Brandon would occasionally join us, showing enthusiasm for the painting and woodworking industry.

After many fulfilling years, I officially retired last year, handing over the reins to my son, Brandon. I still enjoy working with him on occasion, knowing he will carry on the tradition of professional painting and paperhanging.
